Anomalous Idea May I offer an anomalous suggestion: you should not be able to donate to anyone unless you can vote for them. It is the essence of what a truly Democratic Society is, Aristotle’s Polity. The only people who should decide their votes are the voters in each election. Money coming from outside has a direct impact on the outcome of that election, so outside funding should be banned. The People most impacted by any election are the people who know what their community or country needs and wants. It is we, Other voters in other elections, will do the same thing in their own elections. Aristotle argued that the highest form of government is based upon majority rule, but whose rulers function in the interests of all of us. I am not suggesting that outsiders don’t have a right to their own opinions. I can’t vote for Senator Sanders or AOC. They and their colleagues will have the support of millions of us, we. We just shouldn’t be able to donate to them unless we can vote for them.
